Using the Location Bank

The Location Bank is a centralised storage for all your company’s locations, from shooting locations to service facilities.

It automatically gathers and lists every location added to your company’s projects. You can update core location details in the Bank, while day-to-day location management happens inside each project.

Locations are tightly integrated throughout Dramatify, appearing as information, filters, stripboards, reports, or automated features such as weather reports, driving directions, and release listings in production reports.


Access #

To view, edit, and merge locations in the Location Bank, users must have one of the following:

  • Company administrator access
  • Full access or Tailored access to a project with full access to Locations, plus an additional company-level permission:
    1. In Company » People » User » Edit/Invite.
    2. In the pop-up, click the Change access to company features link, and check Locations.
    3. Remember to save your changes.

Location Types #

The Location Bank supports all location types used in Dramatify, including:

  • Shooting locations – studios, on-location sites, and venues.
  • Unit base (or production office)
  • Medical emergency location – such as a hospital, emergency room, or doctor’s office, depending on project needs and local regulations.
  • Facility – any service location, including rehearsal studios and meeting rooms.
  • Transportation Hub – airports, railway stations, bus terminals, taxi companies, or pickup spots. Used for the Daily Cast Schedule and transport orders.
  • Hotel / Accommodation – where cast and crew stay. Used for the Daily Cast Schedule and transport orders.

Location Bank functionality #

  • Adding locations: You can not add locations in the Location Bank. You add locations in your projects, and they are automatically added to the Location Bank.
  • Editing and updating locations in the Location Bank:
    • Click the location you want to update. Click the edit button to add, edit, or delete information.
    • Drag and drop, or click to upload images. An image description input will appear if you want to add text. Click to view images, delete images, and edit image descriptions per image.
  • Merging locations: If you have two or more of the same location from the time before the Location Bank, click the black menu icon in the upper-right corner and select Merge. If you have more than two copies of the same location, you will have to merge the copies one at a time.
  • Deleting locations: Locations are deleted in the projects, not in the location bank. A location is automatically deleted from the location bank if it is linked to only one project location that is deleted. If a location is used in two or more projects, it stays listed in the Location bank.
