Dramatify’s rundown tool has four views for different uses and target groups but relies on the same information. If you, for example, change a title, the change will be visible in all views.
- The script view is the starting point for writer-driven shows, and it is a distraction-free editor for scriptwriters, reporters, hosts, and anchors. Here, the title, action and dialogue are crafted. The script view integrates directly with the grid view and the technical rundown. With the Content Editor role, writers can be locked out from editing close to broadcasting by transferring editing to the technical rundown.
- The grid view is often the starting point for format and sports shows with fast outlining and tab-driven insert of the most important technical information such as content type, timings, locations, venues, feeds and commentators. The grid view integrates directly with the script view and the technical rundown. Production managers and coordinators mainly use it, requiring full access to rundowns.
- The technical rundown view allows the technical director to set cameras, sound, graphics, background screens and shots. It also offers extensive note capabilities, timings and, of course, rehearsal and playout capabilities. It’s the main working view for many teams.
- Camera cards is a view for camera staff and production coordinators who want to print camera cards and select which cameras to include.
Live update – a major difference between views #
The grid view and the technical rundown view feature a live update, which means that as soon as a change is made, Dramatify immediately updates the information in your team members’ browsers without users reloading the page. This ensures a fast, correct production experience.
