In the fast‑paced world of TV, film, and broadcast production, staying updated on every script change, schedule tweak, and production note is critical. Yet logging in and out of multiple systems—or waiting for emails—can slow down even the most experienced teams. That’s why we’re excited to unveil the Dramatify–Slack integration, now in open Beta while we await official Slack Marketplace approval.
With this new integration, key Dramatify notifications are sent directly to Slack, the collaboration tool your team perhaps already uses every day. Whether you’re on a desktop in the control room, a tablet on set, or a phone while scouting locations, you’ll get real‑time updates without ever switching apps.
Get Project Notifications in Slack – desktop, tablet & phone
- Automatic updates – instant alerts whenever a script, scene, character, set, or location is added, edited, or deleted.
- Comment‑rich manual updates – quick team notes for high‑volume tasks like scheduling, so everyone understands the “why” behind the change.
- Each notification includes a direct link back to the relevant item in Dramatify, allowing for one-click deep dives whenever you need the full story.
How Slack Handles Your Notifications
Inside Dramatify, notifications are automatically filtered by user permissions, so people only see updates for the features they have access to. In Slack, all notifications routed to a channel appear to every member of that channel. The good news: you control who is invited —and every Slack link back to Dramatify still honours your access rights, keeping sensitive information protected.
Quick Setup: From Zero to Notified in Minutes
- Create or use an existing Slack workspace for your organisation.
- Create one public Slack channel (e.g., #company‑updates).
- In Dramatify → Company → Settings → Slack, click “Install Dramatify’s Slack App.” Choose your public channel and click “Allow”. This connects Dramatify to Slack.
- Send a test message to confirm notifications are flowing. If nothing appears, double‑check that your channel is public (look for a “#” icon, not a lock).
- For each project or production, create additional Slack channels —public or private—in Dramatify at Project → Settings to keep conversation tidy and manage access.
- Add the Slack channel name and ID in the project’s Settings → Slack. Send another test to confirm.
- If a channel is private, invite the Dramatify bot by typing @dramatify and then invite your key team members.
- That’s it—your projects are now in sync!
Why Your Team Will Love It
- Instant, real‑time updates without hunting through emails.
- Centralised discussion—chat about changes the moment they pop up in Slack.
- Granular control—use public channels for company‑wide news and private channels for sensitive projects.
- Any‑device access—desktop, tablet, or phone.
