A Running Order stripboard is automatically generated as you build your shooting schedule in Dramatify. You can customise it extensively to fit everything from simple one-liners to detailed reports for wardrobe, continuity, cast, and more.
Where to find Running Order #
Go to the Stripboard in the sidebar menu and click Running Order in the orange toolbar.
Note! The Running Order only displays scheduled days and scenes/segments when there is a public shooting schedule. That schedule can be a fragment, a draft, or complete, depending on how the shooting schedule is created.

During and after scheduling #
Once you begin scheduling, scenes appear in the Running order stripboard based on the order you set under Planning > Scheduling. At the top of the stripboard, beneath the Show/Hide bar, you’ll see production statistics including:
- Episodes
- Production days
- Total pages
- Estimated running time
- Estimated production time
Production day information #
Different call sheet types display icons:
- Shooting: Camera icon
- Preparation: To-do icon
- Travel: Suitcase icon
- Holiday: Candle icon
- Other: Generic icon
If linked, the date and unit base also appear. Any banners you’ve added in the schedule will be shown.
Scene information #
Each strip contains detailed, easy-to-read scene data. A few notes:
- A split scene is shown as 5:1 and 5:2
(scene 5, parts 1 and 2). - PGS = page count; DAY = script day.
- ST = segment time (estimated finished scene time).
- PT = production time (estimated time to shoot the scene).
- The dark grey box on the right shows the production day number.
Customising your stripboard #
The Running Order stripboard works with all script formats: screenplays, rundowns (live & multicamera), and AV scripts. You can tailor it to show exactly the information you need by showing, hiding, filtering, or searching. The stripboard updates instantly to match your
selections.
Filtering and limiting your selection #
The filter block at the top appears by default. To remove it for printing, click the x in the upper right corner.
To add the Show/Hide block, click the black menu icon to the left of the green help button and select Show/Hide.
You can refine your stripboard by filtering on:
- Production day range
- Date range
- All teams, selected teams, or a single team
- One or more characters, locations, or atmosphere groups
- Scene numbers or scene headers/sluglines
Multiple selections #
- Mac: Hold Command and click items.
- Windows: Hold Ctrl and click items.
- iOS: Click All Characters or All Locations, then tap items to select. A checkmark indicates selected items.
Show statistics #
To display statistics, open the menu next to the green help button and select Statistics.
Statistics adapt to your filters, allowing you to view totals for:
- An entire series
- A specific character
- A production day or date range
- A team or location
Character index #
If you prefer numbers instead of character names, you can add and print a character index. Select
Character Index from the menu next to the green help button.
Printing your stripboard #
After arranging your stripboard or one-liner, open the Edit menu and select Print. Your browser’s print dialog lets you choose:
- Colour or black-and-white
- Whether to include the browser header/footer
Because stripboard categories rely heavily on colour, printing in colour is generally recommended.
