Environmental policy
At Dramatify, protecting and preserving the natural environment is integral to our identity and operations. We recognise that our industry is challenged by wasteful habits, particularly the excessive use of printed, disposable materials and transportation. Every company in the film, television, and broadcast value chain has an opportunity to act responsibly.
Scope
This policy applies to our own company operations and to the way we influence and support our clients, users and partners. While we cannot mandate how external productions operate, we commit to promoting sustainable practices and selecting suppliers who share our values.
Our Commitments
1. Minimal physical footprint
- We operate entirely in a digital, remote-first model. We do not maintain printed documentation unless it is legally required, thereby eliminating routine printing and reducing paper waste.
- We champion remote work and distributed teams to reduce commuting and travel-related emissions.
- When physical travel is necessary, we favour public transport or other low-impact alternatives wherever feasible.
2. Resource efficiency & technology choices
- We actively reduce resource use: energy consumption, electronic waste, disposable coffee-cups, batteries, and transport—choosing reusable and renewable materials whenever possible.
- We recycle everything possible, ensuring that electronic equipment, packaging, and office materials are handled responsibly and diverted from landfill.
- Our infrastructure is hosted with trusted partners committed to sustainable operations. For example, our global delivery uses Akamai Technologies, Inc., which has set targets to power its operations with 100% renewable energy and achieve net-zero emissions for Scope 1 and 2 by 2030.
3. Influence through our work
- We support our clients and users in reducing reliance on printed, throw-away media and encourage digital workflows that reduce waste and environmental impact.
- We provide guidance and share practical ideas for sustainable production and broadcast workflows, demonstrating that less impact mean more creativity!
4. Preferencing sustainable suppliers & partners
- When selecting external suppliers or technologies, we give preference to those who actively pursue environmental responsibility and resource efficiency.
- We expect our vendors to align with good practice in waste management, energy conservation, recycling and minimal use of disposables.
5. Continuous improvement and accountability
- Though currently working from an “intention to measure and reduce” basis, we commit to tracking our environmental footprint over time—especially travel, energy use, materials, and transport.
- We will review this policy annually and update our commitments and targets as appropriate.
- We will make supporting data available on request to demonstrate our transparency and progress.
Why this matters
A clean, healthy environment benefits everyone: the communities where we live, the ecosystems we depend on, the audiences we serve, and the productions we enable. By acting with consistency and purpose, we aim to be a role model in our industry—and to help shift production culture toward greater sustainability without compromising creative excellence.
Effective date & review
This policy was revised on March 1st, 2024, and is subject to annual review or sooner if significant changes in operations or regulatory requirements occur.
