This weekend we are switching DNS providers, from US-based GoDaddy to French Gandi. The reason is the stronger data protection and privacy legislation in Europe, but also Gandi’s stronger emphasis on ethics and values that we share.

A simple description of what a DNS provider is, is to think of it as a combined phonebook and switchboard for the internet. When you type in dramatify.com, your internet provider checks if they know where to send you and if not, they check with the.com registry who checks with our DNS provider.

We don’t think you will notice any disturbances, but if there should be a glitch in the handover between GoDaddy and Gandi during Saturday evening and Sunday evening, you now know why, and why we are doing this!

Have a great weekend! À bientôt!
